Homework Folders:
I am running low on new homework folders. If your student has a tore up homework folder that looks like it has been through a war please buy them a new one. Please make sure it is plain yellow. It’s easy for me to see and notice. Thank you!

Check Backpacks! Today Thursday Thoughts come home, and a bunch of corrected papers are coming home!

Just Right Books!
Winter break is just around the corner and reading is going to be essential. Please remember to encourage your student to choose a Just Right Book. First they read the summary of the book to see if they are interested in the book. Then they read the first or second page. If they miss 4-5 words on that page the book is too hard. Time to pick another book.

Here is a great website I refer to when I want to know the grade level of a book. You will see a number that looks something like this, 4.3. That means 4th grade 3rd month.

Forest Ridge is conducting a canned food drive. C3 has set a goal for each of us to bring in 2 non-perishable items. If you can donate great! If not, no worries.

I have another way to give this season. It’s not school related. My church sponsors an orphanage in El Proviner, Mexico. I have gone to Mexico for a number of years to help out another orphanage there. This particular orphanage is the only one within 300 miles who accepts special needs kids. We are doing a penny drive to raise money for this orphanage. I thought this would be a great way for C3 kids to help kids without the same luxuries they have. I have a ton of pictures from the schools and orphanage I went to that I am going to share with the kids. If they would like to donate a few pennies or change great, again if not no big deal. This is strictly voluntary.

School Supplies:
Its that time of year! Pencils are shrinking, and erasers are worn out. Please double check with your student and make sure they have the necessary supplies for the school day. There are a couple of students who need scissors and glue.
