The pumpkin patch was a success. Last year EZ Orchards only had small pumpkins. So I prepared the kids for small pumpkins. I didn't want them to get there thinking they were going to get a huge pumpkin. Well.......I was very wrong! The pumpkins were huge. Of course we all had to get the biggest one we could carry. Then some kids had to roll them into our classroom. The students each learned how to pick an apple, and they went through the Oregon corn maze. Ask them to fill you in on some great information they learned. Initially I had this great worksheet requiring the kids to work in pairs and research some Oregon facts from the maze. I had clip boards and the worksheets. However, I forgot pencils! My plan did not work out as I wanted it to. We still had a lot of fun and enjoyed an apple cider doughnut afterwards. I love the pumpkin patch and look forward to going again next year.
Pictures to come later.
